Park Hyatt London River Thames: a first prestigious signing

You don’t need to be fluent in English to understand that this new hotel is located in London and on the banks of the Thames. That’s a good start, but it’s a bit short to highlight this brand’s first high-end establishment in the United Kingdom. Guided tour…

It was last October that the doors of this beautiful hotel opened, marking the gigantic transformations of this district in the south of London, Nine Elms, one of the largest urban construction sites in Europe today, around an emblematic building: the Battersea Power Station, a monumental power station, a vast renovation project covering 200 hectares which should also accommodate 18,000 new homes.

Taking advantage of this large-scale renovation, as well as the appeal of this famous power station, recently designated as one of London’s most popular attractions after welcoming 11 million visitors last year, the Hyatt group intended to build a hotel that lived up to its ambitions. Indeed, the Park Hyatt London River Thames offers 203 rooms, ideally located to satisfy the desire for culture and discovery, with several cultural attractions, including the historic Kia Oval cricket ground, the Tate Britain museum, as well as the proximity of several iconic London sites such as the lastminute.com London Eye, Big Ben, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace being just some of the sites to discover.

A typically “British” design with a contemporary touch

The hotel’s entrance features a stunning installation by Charlie Whinney, ‘Ebb and Flow’, inspired by the River Thames, while elsewhere guests can admire artworks by several renowned artists: Ian Rayer-Smith, Jo Taylor, Françoise Delaire, Gabriel Leung, George Blacklock, Ewan David…

The hotel’s rooms continue this journey, the understated design complemented by accents of color and powerful artworks, including an immersive ‘waterside park’ experience, with walls lined with patterns by the iconic English textile designer William Morris, complemented by a scheme of white and ebony, touches of leather and brass. The tall, floor-to-ceiling windows ensure that each room is filled with natural light, and many rooms offer stunning views of the River Thames, the Houses of Parliament, and the City of London.

Varied culinary experiences

The bars and restaurants also embody the diversity of their surroundings, offering a varied culinary journey through what promises to be beautiful dining experiences. Each venue presents a unique atmosphere and flavors under the leadership of Fabrice Lasnon, the hotel’s executive chef, with 35 years of experience and a particular talent for creating inspiring dishes. At Nine Elms Kitchen & Terrace, for example, guests can savor seasonal produce transformed into culinary masterpieces that pay homage to London culture.

For those seeking a more refined experience, the TAMISé Tea Lounge & Wine Library offers a breathtaking setting overlooking the river. Finally, guests can enjoy authentic flavors at the hotel’s Cantonese restaurant, which is scheduled to open later this year. The Nine Elms Bar & Lounge, meanwhile, offers an escape to the past, allowing guests to relax with signature cocktails.

An entire floor dedicated to well-being

An entire floor is dedicated to wellness, with a spa offering panoramic views of the river and flooded with natural light. A 150m² state-of-the-art fitness center equipped with the latest Technogym equipment, a large 20 x 8 meter indoor pool, six luxurious treatment rooms with bathrooms, and a relaxation lounge create the perfect sanctuary for unwinding amidst the hustle and bustle of the city. Exclusive treatments from The|Tides, a Dutch holistic wellness brand, and Ling Skincare are offered. Adaptogenic superherb teas and treatments from Tea & Tonic, an iconic British brand, can be discovered in the relaxation room equipped with two high-tech Somadome Pods.

Large-scale meetings and events

Although this was not the subject of the moment, the hotel, enjoying a privileged location in central London and close to the United States Embassy, also offers an ideal setting for organizing prestigious events, boasting over 14,000 m² of meeting space, including one of the largest ballrooms with a capacity of 830 guests, while remaining versatile to be divided into three spaces. Seven other meeting rooms can also be opened to form a larger space and connected to a vast foyer.

There is no doubt that with this wonderful new development, Hyatt Hotels Corporation, one of the largest hotel groups in the world with more than 1,350 all-inclusive hotel properties and resorts in 78 countries on six continents, confirms its quality claims, as much in decoration, service, gastronomy, and well-being.
